5 Ways to Cast to Samsung TV (All Easy!)

Recently I came across an interesting issue.

I had to run an app on my Samsung Smart Tv but, but since it was from a third-party source, I couldn’t use it on my device. This got me scratching my head. After wasting hours and searching the web for hours, I discovered the answer was already in front of me.

I could have cast the app from my iPhone to my Samsung TV. And this event gave me the inspiration for this article too.

So today, let’s look at 5 ways to cast to Samsung TV. This article will cover all possible casting methods, like wired, wireless or via a peripheral device.

So sit back and enjoy this informative journey with me.

What is casting on Samsung TV?

Screen casting is a form of mirroring where you can transfer AV input from one output to another via any wired or wireless medium.

The only difference between mirroring and casting is mirroring lets you see the output from both the source and cast, whereas casting only shows you output via the cast. The source just acts like a promoter in the whole process.

With the help of casting, you can quickly run apps that aren’t present in the App Store or Play Store.

Casting to your Samsung TV can be done by these 5 verified methods. Let us look at each of them so you can find your best choice of action.

You can use any other streaming device in this process, like Fire Stick or Roku, but, in my opinion, Chromecast works the best.

Casting to Samsung TV via HDMI Cable.

If you have trouble going wireless, try casting on your device via the HMDI Cable. To do so:

  • Take the HDMI Cable and plug one end into the HDMI end, located on the backside of the Samsung TV, and the other into your device’s power cable. Make sure you use the right HMDI Cable.
  • Switch on your Samsung TV.
  • Press the “source” button on the Remote. A list of all input sources will appear on the screen.
  • Select the option of your choice.
  • Wait for the image to appear.

Casting to Samsung TV via Third Party apps.

You can use many great third-party casting apps to cast on Samsung TV.

You can download either the SmartThings app or the Smart View app, depending on the year your Samsung TV was launched.

However, please keep in mind that you can only cast material that has already been downloaded to your device using this technique. (like photos, videos and music). You can’t stream YouTube or Netflix, for example.

Things to keep in mind

  • Ensure your peripheral device and your Samsung TV are in sync(connected to the same Wifi source)before casting.
  • Make sure you use the suitable HMDI Cable if you are going for wired connections. In the case of Android devices, use HMDI to USB-C or USB-B and HMDI to Lightning for iPhones/ iPads.
  • Make sure the firmware is updated to the latest version.
  • Restart your TV before and after you cast.
